The Avila Beach Community Center offers a variety of classes for all ages that promote personal growth and development, social interaction, in a fun, positive atmosphere. The Avila Beach Community Center class offerings continue to expand as we meet the needs and wants of our community. SAN LUIS COASTAL ADULT SCHOOL CLASSES

Carolyn Hottle is teaching GENTLE YOGA classes which will increase your flexibility, strength, and range of motion. Emphasizing posture, breathing, relaxation, and stress release. These classes are held on Tuesdays/Thursdays from 9:30-10:45 am, August 28 through December 13, 2018. The cost is $117 for the series.  Pre-registration is required.  Please contact San Luis Coastal Adult School at 805-549-1222 or ae.slcusd.org to register.

Kathleen Yeung is teaching GENTLE YOGA classes which will increase your flexibility, strength, and range of motion. Emphasizing posture, breathing, relaxation, and stress release. Sue Gin is teaching STRENGTH TRAINING for seniors to promote muscle strength and increase flexibility and coordination while building strength and endurance.  Advanced Strength Training classes are held on Tuesdays/Thursdays from 11:00 am – 12:15 pm, August 28 through December 13, 2018. CUESTA COLLEGE- EMERITUS COLLEGE CLASSES

ECOL 425 - Art History - Tuesdays from 1 pm-2:50 pm
Presents an overview of art emphasizing historical development and cultural influences. Class discussion, slides and videos, and lecture are used to develop an appreciation and awareness of particular works and general influences. The period (such as Renaissance or Modernism) or the type of art (such as painting, sculpture, folk art) varies from class to class. ECOL 427 - Creative Cooking - Thursdays from 1 pm-2:50 pm
Designed for the adult 50+, this class presents healthy food and cooking choices that maintain optimum health for active older adults. Students learn basic concepts of nutrition as well as how to prepare tasty, flavorful and nutritious meals based on those concepts, using fresh food from local markets. ECOL 429 - Photography - Tuesdays from 10:30 am-12:20 pm
Designed for the adult 50+, this class presents camera choices, in particular digital cameras; camera use; photo quality, including setting, composition and light; downloading, storing and sharing images; and documenting life events and travel. ECOL 434 - Explorations in Art - Wednesdays from 10:30 am-12:20 pm
Encourages art appreciation, self-expression and creativity in a variety of art media. Projects give students experience with different creative traditional and/or nontraditional artistic methods, design techniques, tools and materials.
