CUESTA COLLEGE- EMERITUS COLLEGE CLASSES

Dara Rosenwasser is teaching ECOL 425 - ART HISTORY  This course will focus on different ways of seeing and how to engage with what you see in order to develop a deeper understanding that is much more than a first impression (i.e. how to identify the medium used, an artist's specific techniques, and emotional and intellectual messages). The first class will focus on 2D visual art of the early 20th Century, including the works of Vasily Kandinsky and Piet Mondrian, two artists who set the stage for abstraction. We will engage with artists' work, exploring how their lives and culture influenced their paintings, which provide a rich background for contemporary artists today. These classes are held on Tuesdays from 1:00 – 3:00 pm, September 18 through November 17, 2017. Ages 50+.  Pre-registration is required.  Please go online www.cuesta.edu to register.
